BSSC Inter Level Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2023 pdf

The BSSC Inter Level Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2023 are important for the candidates who want to appear for the Bihar SSC Inter-Level Examination 2023. The exam will be conducted by the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) to fill 11,098 vacancies in various posts1. The exam will be held in two stages: the Preliminary Exam and the Main Exam. The syllabus and exam pattern for both the stages are given below:

Preliminary Exam

The Preliminary Exam will consist of 150 objective type questions, each carrying 4 marks. There will be a negative marking of 1/4th marks for each wrong answer. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours and 15 minutes. The questions will be based on the following subjects:

  • General Studies: 50 questions, 200 marks
  • General Science and Mathematics: 50 questions, 200 marks
  • Mental Ability Test (Comprehension/ Logic/ Reasoning/ Mental Ability): 50 questions, 200 marks

The total marks for the Preliminary Exam will be 600.

Main Exam

The Main Exam will consist of two papers: Paper-1 and Paper-2. Each paper will have a duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes. The questions will be objective type, each carrying 4 marks. There will be a negative marking of 1/4th marks for each wrong answer. The subjects and marks distribution for each paper are as follows:

  • Paper-1: General Awareness/ Hindi language: 100 questions, 400 marks
  • Paper-2: Mental ability/logical reasoning: 50 questions, 200 marks
  • Paper-2: General mathematics/science: 100 questions, 400 marks

The total marks for the Main Exam will be 1000.

Syllabus

The syllabus for the Preliminary Exam and the Main Exam are similar, except that the Main Exam has an additional paper on General Hindi. The topics covered under each subject are as follows:

  • Sports and players
  • India and its neighboring countries
  • History of neighboring countries
  • History of India
  • Culture
  • Geography
  • Economic scenario
  • Constitution and polity of India
  • The political system of the country
  • Contribution of Bihar in Panchayati Raj, five-year plan, and national movement

General Science and Mathematics

In this section, questions can generally be asked from the following subjects of matriculation level.
